The trail was built in the last century, but after the floods and due to time it required reconstruction. It begins in the village of Liptovský Ján at the spring of Teplica, continues through the village to the spring of Medokýš, or the footbridge over the River Váh at Borová Sihoť, and further to the village of Liptovská Porúbka. The trail itself is linear and bidirectional, it has a length of more than 5.5 km and consists of 6 stops with information boards focusing on local history, fauna and flora, and arbours with benches. The walk takes 1.5 – 2 hours. The trail is suitable for both pedestrians and cyclists thanks to its rugged and paved sections.
Parking at the beginning of the trail is free of charge but with limited capacities. Other paid and free parking lots are available across the village of Liptovský Ján which, as one of the tourist centres in the Liptov region, provides sufficient parking capacity.
You can get to Liptovský Ján by bus from Liptovský Mikuláš. The beginning of the trail is just a few steps from the bus stop located in the centre of the village. To get back, take a bus in the village of Liptovská Porúbka or simply head out to the train/bus station in the town of Liptovský Hrádok by foot.
Great food and accommodation facilities are available mainly in Liptovský Ján. But you can also refresh yourself on your half-way, in the Borová Sihoť Hotel.
