The ski resort Skicentrum Žiar-Dolinky is located at the foot of the southern slopes of the Western Tatras, 10 km from Liptovský Mikuláš, at the end of the village Žiar.
The resort is suitable for beginners as well as intermediate skiers. There are 2 ski lifts in operation in the area with two slopes, one of which has artificial snow-making cannons. The length of the slopes is 650m. The ski slopes are maintained daily by a Kässbohrer PB 240.D snowmobile.
The piste of the area has built evening lighting, so evening skiing is widely used in the area. There is also a ski school in the area. An access road leads to the complex, ending with a parking lot for cars and buses. Next to the parking lot, there is a ski service and ski equipment rental. The ski area is only 200 meters away from the bus stop at the end of Žiar.
