Východná is a distinctive village in Liptov known mainly for its folklore traditions. The village has a unique area with an amphitheater, where the oldest folk art festival in Slovakia, the Východná Folk Festival, known all over the world, is celebrated every year. The dominant feature of this area is the 28 m high observation tower “Májka” from which visitors can look out over the entire area, the village of Východná, but above all the beautiful panorama of the High, Western and Low Tatras. There is also an exhibition of wooden folk sculptures in the area. You can reach the observation deck directly from the parking lot within the complex.
