Ever since it first opened its doors, Salaš Dechtáre has consistently offered traditional Slovak cuisine and selected regional Liptov specialities, such as the famous bryndzové halušky. Dishes are prepared according to recipes passed down by grandmothers – a guarantee of authentic Slovak and Liptov cooking. The recipe for bryndzové halušky has been a tradition at Salaš Dechtáre since 1959, when it became the first commercial sheep farm to offer genuine bryndzové halušky for sale. Any who loves Slovak and Liptov cuisine will appreciate the unique taste and quality of this dish.

The restaurant can seat 130, and the evening bistro Dechtárske Nočné Bistro can accommodate 28 guests. This ensures that Salaš Dechtáre can stay open around the clock. The venue includes a covered summer terrace with a capacity for 80 guests, making it a pleasant spot for motorists to take a break during the summer months. From the terrace, you can enjoy a stunning view of the Liptovská Mara reservoir, a haven for water sports enthusiasts and anglers in Slovakia, as well as the breathtaking panorama of the Western Tatras.
