Sheepfolds Pastierska

Salaš Pastierska is an example of sheep farming, shepherding and sheep breeding, which all have a long tradition in Liptov.

The salaš is currently closed to the public. The grazing season starts in April and finishes in October.

The farm is located in the Bobrovecká valley, at about 650 m above sea level and have ideal conditions for sheep breeding and dairy production.

An authentic salaš nestled under the peaks of the Western Tatras mountains – free grazing, manual milking, the production and sale of traditional sheep cheese products:

• fresh sheep’s milk cheese
• smoked sheep’s milk cheese
• sheep’s bryndza
• žinčica (boiled sheep whey)
• Salaš themed gifts

Traditional lamb and mutton dishes are available upon request.

Kids can enjoy a pony ride and adults can look forward to mutton goulash.

The products made in salaš are labelled the Produkt Liptova quality brand of local products, meaning they have been made by a certified, high-quality local producer.
