Železné
At the end of the turning of the Ľupčianska Valley, there is the settlement of Železné hidden beneath the Low Tatras at an altitude of 970 m. You can get there by car from villages Partizánska Ľupča and Liptovská Lužná through the saddleback of Prievalec. In the past, there was a climatic spa, today there is a children’s sanatorium and a mineral spring.
The surrounding of Železné is ideal for easy walks in the countryside full of animals, mushrooms and forest fruits. By bike, it is not far from the Ľupčianska Valley and the picturesque village of Magurka, which is the highest situated village in Slovakia. For more experienced tourists, there are great possibilities of hiking to peaks of Salatín, Latiborská Hoľa and Chabenec.
In winter, there are excellent cross-country skiing trails around the village.
