The nature trail Čierny Kameň (Sl. Black Stone) is situated in the centre of the village of Liptovské Revúce. It is a modern trail with 8 stops providing visitors with information on fauna and flora in the National Park of Veľká Fatra, Natural Nature Reserve of Čierny Kameň, as well as on sheep farming or local history during the Slovak National Uprising.
This self-guided, bidirectional, circular, summer and winter nature trail follows the red, green and yellow hiking trails. It is one of the more demanding trails, mainly due to its length of 9.5 km, which can be handled in 5 hours by an average physically fit tourist.
Free parking is available at the beginning of the trail at the cemetery behind the church, or at the municipality library (Obecná knižnica) – village part Stredná Revúca, and at the end of the trail at the COOP Jednota shop – village part Vyšná Revúca.
Regular bus service circulates from Ružomberok to the village. There is a bus stop in the village part Stredná Revúca at the fire station and in the village part Vyšná Revúca at the COOP Jednota shop.
There is a shelter on the trail itself for temporary overnight sleeping. Possibilities to get food are limited; therefore we recommend having sufficient supplies with you. Accommodation is available in private accommodation facilities and boarding houses in Liptovské Revúce or Liptovská Osada.
